Repaso — Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

⚠️ THE SOCIAL SIDE — public profile, friends, feed, league, conversation, gifts and the class wall (Terms, section 7; Privacy, sections 1, 5 and 9) — was added on 28 and 29/Aug/2026 and HAS NOT BEEN THROUGH LEGAL REVIEW. It is here because the feature already exists in the app, and a document describing a smaller app than the real one is worse than an out-of-date one: it claims protections that no longer exist. The list of what needs a lawyer is at the end of this file. Also available in português and español.

In one sentence

Repaso reads the study material you send it and writes questions about it, bringing each question back on the day you are about to forget it. To do that, it keeps what you answered.

Terms of Use

1. What the service is

Repaso is a spaced repetition study tool. You send a material (today, a PDF or text), an automated system reads it and writes questions, and the app schedules when each question should come back.

2. Your account

You need an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect improper access, change it from the recovery screen itself.

We do not ask for, see, or store your password in readable form — authentication is handled by Supabase, which keeps only a cryptographic digest of it.

3. The material you send — the most important part

You declare that you have the right to use the material you send.

Repaso does not verify this, and would have no way to. If you send course notes, a book, or study material, responsibility for that use is yours.

In return, we commit to the following, and it is implemented in the code, not merely written here:

• Your material is yours. It is visible only to your account.
• We do not use your material to serve anyone else. The questions generated from it are not offered to other users.
• We do not sell, license, or publish your material.
• The file itself never leaves your device. See "The PDF" in the privacy policy.

There is one exception, and it is written in section 6: illegal, indecent, or improper material may be removed.

4. What the tool is not

• It is not a teacher or tutor. Questions are generated automatically and may contain errors. Check them against the original material before studying from them as if they were an answer key.
• It does not replace the material. It is practice on top of it.
• It does not guarantee passing any exam.

The artificial-intelligence limits

Beyond the material itself, some features spend AI on every use: explaining a question ("I did not get it"), solving a photo of a question, generating a summary, translating a question, and posting an image to the class wall.

Each has an hourly ceiling, the same for everyone, and a daily ceiling that depends on the plan: on the free plan the daily ceiling is the same number as the hourly one; on the paid plan it is much higher. The numbers in force show up in the app when you reach the limit — the screen says which feature stopped and why.

This exists for one reason: each of those calls costs real money, and without a ceiling a single account would consume the whole service.

5. Plans and billing

What the free plan includes, with no expiry date: answering and reviewing everything already generated, the stage map, progress, statistics, achievements, the streak, embers and the ember store, missions, chests, the daily check-in, joining up to two classes, the profile, friends, the feed, the league, and the ready-made courses in the catalogue. None of that expires and none of it becomes paid later.

What belongs to the paid plan, and why: the tutor ("I don't get it"), solving a photo of a question, the summary, translating a question, and posting a photo to the class wall. These are the five features that call artificial intelligence on every use — that is, they cost money every time someone taps them. Leaving them open on the free plan would not be generosity: it would be the service spending more, per non-paying account, than it receives from a paying one. This changed on 28/Aug/2026. They previously had a daily limit on the free plan.

Free-plan question generation also ends: the first material generates questions up to the fifth stage. From the sixth onwards a subscription is required. Stages already generated remain yours, with their questions, forever.

• Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL) and billing is processed by Stripe. Outside Brazil, your bank converts at its own rate, and the amount on your statement may differ from the one shown on screen.
• We do not see or store your card details — they go straight to Stripe.
• You can cancel whenever you want, and access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
• There is no automatic refund for a period already used. If something went wrong on our side, talk to us — we sort it out case by case.

6. Acceptable use, and what can be removed

Repaso is a study tool. Do not send:

• illegal material, or material you do not have the right to use;
• indecent, obscene, or pornographic material;
• material inciting violence, hatred, or discrimination;
• material that is improper for a study tool, including any content exposing another person's personal data;
• anything intended to overload the service or work around its limits.

We may remove from Repaso, without prior notice, any material falling under the above. Removing means truly deleting: the material leaves the database and takes with it the units, the questions, and the study history generated from it. There is no recovery — this is not the trash you have inside the app, from which you restore what you deleted yourself.

In serious cases, or when it happens repeatedly, we may also suspend or close the account.

Two things so there is no misunderstanding:

• We do not read anyone's material as a routine. What exists is an administration panel listing the materials sent (title, size, status) — and that is where removal comes from, when it is necessary. There is no automated scanning of your study material, and no prior moderation of it.

• ⚠️ **THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION, AND IT IS NEW: the photo posted to a class wall.** That image — and only that one — is examined by an automated system before it appears to the other people in the class, and it can be rejected. It is the only thing in Repaso that one person publishes to others, and publishing with nobody looking would mean a 16-year-old's photo can reach 60 people with no barrier at all. A rejected image is not stored. **Until 28/Aug/2026 this document said there was no automated scanning at all; that was true before the wall, and stopped being true.**
• Removing a material does not refund credit. The processing was already done and paid for at the moment the questions were generated. This also applies when you are the one deleting.

7. The social side

⚠️ This entire section has not been through legal review. See the notice at the top and the list of pending items at the end.

Nothing here is required and nothing here turns itself on. Repaso works in full without you talking to anyone.

Your profile. You can pick an @ (3 to 20 characters, no accents, no dots), a short line about yourself, and an avatar. The avatar is the initial of your name over a colour you choose, or one of the 20 illustrated characters the app ships — 12 free and 8 on the paid plan. None of them is a real person, and none is a photograph. There is no profile photo upload, on purpose: a face photo would bring storage, moderation and one more piece of personal data, three big problems for one ornament.

Who sees your profile is your choice, in Settings → Privacy, between anyone, friends only and nobody. Choosing "nobody", your profile does not appear in any search and nobody can even send you a friend request.

What appears on the profile: the @, the name you wrote, the line, the avatar, your level, your streak, how many questions you have answered, how many memories you have fixed, and the medals you hold. What does not appear: your email, your subjects, your materials, your accuracy, the questions you get wrong, or the times of day you study.

Friendships. Someone asks, you accept or decline. Without acceptance there is no friendship, and without friendship the person does not see your profile (if you chose "friends only"), does not enter your feed, and cannot message you.

The feed. It shows facts derived from your friends' studying — "finished a block", "levelled up", "hit 10 days in a row" — and it has no free text field: nobody writes anything in it. Reactions are five fixed stickers. This is not a technical limitation: it is the decision not to open, in a study app used by minors, a place where anyone writes anything to anyone.

The league. A weekly ranking between you and your friends, by XP over the last 7 days. With no friends there is no league — and the screen says so, instead of showing a podium of one person.

The streak partner. Two people who are already friends can agree to hold their streak together. The counter goes up when both answered on the same day and returns to zero when a whole day passes without both. Either one can end it at any time.

The gift. You can send embers to a friend, up to a daily limit. Embers are not bought with money (see section 8).

The conversation. Repaso has a private conversation between friends, and it is born switched off. While it is off, the button does not even appear. When it is switched on: only between people who accepted a friendship, the friendship is checked on every message, and blocking ends the conversation immediately.

Reporting and blocking. Both are on every profile. Reporting sends the case to a person at Repaso to read — there is no automated system deciding what harassment is, and the reported person is not notified. Blocking undoes the friendship and removes you from each other's view; the block can be undone later, in Settings → Privacy, but the friendship does not come back by itself.

Classes. They stay as they were, with one difference: there is now a wall, where someone on the paid plan can post a photo to the class. That photo goes through automated checking before it appears (section 6).

8. Embers, lives and the store

Embers are game points, not money. They are earned by studying — finishing blocks, meeting the day's goal, opening chests, checking in, completing missions — and cannot be bought. There is no way to turn money into embers, embers into money, or move embers out of your account (the gift to a friend is the only way out, and it has a daily limit).

With embers you buy, inside the app, things that only exist inside the app: a streak shield, one extra life, an extra review, double-XP time, freezing the streak. None of them generates artificial-intelligence cost — they are all system rules.

Lives limit how many mistakes in a row you make before having to wait; they come back on their own over time, with nothing for you to do.

The store has two deliberately separate tabs: one for embers and one for real money, and the money tab sells only the plan and the single material from section 5 — no game items. The two economies never meet anywhere.

If your account is closed, the embers and items end with it. Since they were never bought with money, there is no value to refund.

9. End of the service

This is a new product, run by a small team. If it is ever discontinued, we will give notice in advance and you will be able to export all your data — that function already exists today, under Settings.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change something relevant, we will give notice in the app. Continuing to use it after the notice means accepting the new version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Brazilian law, with jurisdiction in the district where the person responsible for Repaso is domiciled.

Privacy Policy

1. What is collected

You provide:

• name, email, and password
• country
• exam date, study days and minutes (optional)
• the study material you send

Use generates:

• which questions you answered, whether you got them right, and how long you took
• the state of your memory per question (when it should come back)
• account creation date and last access

The device reports:

• when something breaks on screen, we record the error message, the screen where it happened, and the browser type. **That record does not store who you are** — there is no user identification in it.

A code derived from your network:

• When you send an error, feedback, or use an artificial-intelligence feature, we store alongside it a **16-character code computed from your network address (IP)**.
• The address itself is not stored, and the computation is one-way: the code cannot be turned back into the address. It answers one question — "did these requests come from the same place?" — and never which place.
• What for: to stop someone from creating accounts automatically to use the AI for free many times over, and to stop a looping error from filling the database.
• A shared network is not blocked. A home, a classroom and a prep school all leave from the same address, and anyone already using the app keeps using it normally — the check only looks at accounts created in the last 24 hours.
• This code lives in the same records, for the same time, as those records.

If you use the social side — and only if you do:

• the @ you chose, the profile line, and the avatar (the colour, or which of the 20 characters);
• your choice of who sees your profile (anyone / friends only / nobody);
• who your friends are, who sent a friend request, and who you declined;
• who you blocked (that list is seen only by you);
• the reactions you left on the feed;
• whether you joined a streak partnership, with whom, and for how many days;
• the reports you file, with the reason and what you wrote;
• the conversation messages, once it is switched on — today it is off and no message is stored.

The game generates: your embers and the history of how you earned and spent them, your lives, the blocks you opened and closed, the daily and weekly missions, and the chests opened. All of it is study counting, computed by rule — no part of it goes through artificial intelligence.

If you send a complaint with a screenshot: the image is stored in a closed place that only the person responsible for Repaso opens, together with the text you wrote. It is not published anywhere and does not go through any automated system. The app warns you, before you pick the file, that your screen may contain your email and the name of your material.

About cookies, specifically: Repaso uses no cookies at all — neither first-party nor third-party. Your session is kept in your own browser's local storage, and leaves it when you sign out or clear the site's data. There is no Google Analytics, no social-network pixel, and no other audience-measurement tool. That is why you do not see a cookie banner here: there would be nothing to consent to, and a decorative banner would be asking permission for something that does not happen. In Settings → Storage you can see how much the app has kept on this device, and clear it.

We do not collect: location, contacts, calendar, or data from other applications. We use no tracking cookies and no advertising.

2. The PDF — how it actually works

When you send a PDF, it is opened and read inside your own browser. The file is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

What leaves your device is the extracted text, in pieces, sent at the moment the questions are generated.

3. Where the text goes

This is the part that demands full transparency.

To write the questions, the text of your material is sent to Anthropic, which operates the language model Repaso uses. It is one-off processing, done at the moment of generation.

We also store, alongside each question, the literal excerpt from your material that proves the answer — that is what lets us show you the exact paragraph when you get it wrong, and what guarantees the question was not invented.

4. Where the data lives

In other words: your data is processed outside Brazil and Argentina. By using Repaso you agree to that transfer.

5. Who has access

• You, to your account.
• The person responsible for Repaso, through an administration panel, to follow usage and solve problems. That panel shows name, email, country, activity and aggregate performance, and the **list of materials sent** — title, size, and status, not the content. That is where access is granted, an account problem is fixed, and a **material is removed** in the cases of section 6 of the Terms.
• The people in the class you choose to join. This is new as of 2026-08-28 and only happens if you join a class — never by default. What the others see of you is only this: the nickname you chose (it can be anything), your level, your XP over the last 7 days, your streak and how many memories you have fixed.

What does NOT appear: your real name, your e-mail, your subjects and materials, your accuracy, the questions you get wrong, or the times of day you study.

⚠️ UNTIL 28/Aug/2026 THIS PARAGRAPH SAID: "nobody writes to anybody inside a class; there are no posts, comments, messages or photos". That stopped being true and is corrected below. The sentence was exact while a class was only a list of numbers.

What changed: there is now a wall, where someone on the paid plan posts a photo to the class. That photo goes through automated checking before it appears (Terms, section 6), shows with the nickname of whoever posted it — never the real name — and whoever posted it can delete it. There is still no post, comment or any free text field between people inside a class.

Leaving a class removes you from the list right away, and takes the nickname with it. Whoever created the class can delete it, and that deletes the whole list.

• The people you accept as friends. This is new as of 28/Aug/2026 and only happens if you create an @ and accept somebody — never by default. They see your profile (Terms, section 7), the facts of your studying in the feed, and your position in the league. They do not see your email, your subjects, your materials, your accuracy, or your study times.

Who sees your profile is your choice, in Settings → Privacy, and "nobody" is one of the three options. Unfriending or blocking removes the person immediately.

• Nobody else. We do not sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Your rights

• See and take your data: under Settings → "Export my data" you download a file with everything — preferences, subjects, questions, your answer history, and the state of your memory.
• Delete a material: on the Material screen, on each subject.
• Delete the whole account: under Settings → "Delete my account". You confirm by typing your email and it happens immediately, without depending on anyone on our side: out go your materials, the questions generated from them, your answer history, and the state of your memory. There is no trash and we keep no copy. The screen itself offers the export before you confirm — afterwards there is no way back.
• Correct your data: name, country, and preferences you change under Settings.

7. How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you delete the account, we delete your personal data, your materials, and your history.

Material removed under section 6 of the Terms is deleted immediately, along with the questions and history that came from it.

Error logs (which do not identify you) may remain for up to 90 days for diagnosis.

8. Security

• Access to data is controlled in the database itself, by rules that prevent one account from reading another account's data.
• The keys granting broad access stay only on the server, never in the browser.
• No system is immune. If there is an incident affecting your data, we will tell you.

9. Minors

Repaso is not intended for children under 13. Between 13 and 18, use must be authorised by a guardian.

About classes: if you are under 18, joining a class makes your nickname and your study numbers visible to the other people in it — and that should be discussed with your guardian first.

⚠️ About the social side, and this is more serious than classes: the public profile, friends, the feed, the league and (once switched on) the conversation put you in contact with other people, not just numbers. If you are under 18, this needs to be discussed with your guardian before you create an @ — and that is why none of it turns itself on: with no @ created and no friendship accepted, none of it exists in your account.

What was done to reduce the risk, and is in the code and not only here:

• there is no free text field between people anywhere in the feed, the class or the profile — reactions are five fixed stickers, and the feed's facts are written by the app itself;
• the conversation is born switched off, and even when on it works only between people who accepted a friendship, checked on every message;
• you choose who sees your profile, and "nobody" is one of the options;
• there is no face-photo upload on any profile;
• reporting and blocking are on every profile, always visible, and a report is read by a person;
• the only image one person publishes to others is the class wall photo, and it is checked automatically before it appears.

⚠️ LEGAL PENDING ITEM: age verification and a way to record guardian consent are not implemented. Today the app does not ask for age anywhere. This is on the pending list at the end of this document, and it is the most important item on it.

10. Who is responsible, and contact

Repaso is operated by Letycia Rocha Zuccarello, an individual, in Brazil. She is the one who decides what is collected, what it is for, and how long it is kept — that is, she is the controller of your data.

These two e-mails are the communication channel for data subjects that the LGPD (Brazil's data protection law) requires. Repaso is a small-scale processing agent and therefore does not appoint a data protection officer (ANPD Resolution CD/ANPD No. 2/2022) — but it answers any request about your data through this channel: access, correction, deletion or questions.

Deletion requests are handled within 7 days. You can also delete your account yourself, inside the app, under Settings.
