Repaso — Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Every statement in this document corresponds to something the app actually does. Nothing was included here because it sounded good.

Courtesy translation. The original of these terms is in Portuguese. If the versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails, available at /termos.html.

In short

On the free account, you study ready-made materials from the catalogue (in Portuguese). On the monthly plan, Repaso also turns the study material you send into questions. Either way, it keeps a record of your answers to schedule when each question comes back.

Terms of Use

1. What the service is

Repaso is a spaced repetition study tool. On the monthly plan, you send a material (today, a PDF or text), an automated system reads it and writes questions, and the app schedules when each question should come back. On the free account, instead of sending your own material, you study the ready-made materials in the catalogue (in Portuguese), with the questions already written.

2. Your account

You need an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect improper access, change it from the recovery screen itself.

We do not ask for, see, or store your password in readable form — authentication is handled by Supabase, which keeps only a cryptographic digest of it.

3. The material you send — the most important part

You declare that you have the right to use the material you send.

Repaso does not verify this, and would have no way to. If you send course notes, a book, or study material, responsibility for that use is yours.

In return, we commit to the following, and it is implemented in the code, not merely written here:

• Your material is yours. It is visible only to your account, with one exception: the administration panel opens the excerpt that a question with few correct answers came from (section 6).
• We do not use your material to serve anyone else. The questions generated from it are not offered to other users.
• We do not sell, license, or publish your material.
• The file itself never leaves your device. See "The PDF" in the privacy policy.

There is one exception, and it is written in section 6: illegal, indecent, or improper material may be removed.

4. What the tool is not

• It is not a teacher. Questions are generated automatically and may contain errors. Check them against the original material before studying from them as if they were an answer key. The tutor, explanations, summaries and translations are automated too, and they can be wrong.
• It does not replace the material. It is practice on top of it.
• It does not guarantee passing any exam.

The artificial-intelligence limits

Beyond the material itself, some features call the AI when they write something new or check a photo: answering what you ask about a question ("I did not get it"), writing an explanation for a question that does not have one yet, generating the summary of a topic, translating a question, and posting a photo to the class wall.

They are part of the monthly plan (section 5). Each one has an hourly limit and a daily limit. Explanations count toward the tutor's limit. When you reach a limit, the screen tells you.

This exists for one reason: each of those calls costs real money, and without a limit a single account would consume the whole service.

5. Free account, monthly plan and billing

What the free account includes, with no expiry date: answering and reviewing everything already generated, the stage map, progress, statistics, achievements, the streak, embers and the ember store, missions, chests, the daily claim, joining up to two classes, the profile, friends, the feed and the league. None of that expires, and none of it will start costing money later. The ready-made catalogue materials (in Portuguese) are also part of the free account, with all their topics, and a material that was added to the catalogue for free stays free.

What is part of the monthly plan, and why: sending your own material, the tutor ("I did not get it"), an explanation that has not been written yet, the summary of each topic, translating a question, posting a photo to the class wall, joining up to 8 classes, and the collection of 8 avatars. Except for the classes and the avatars, all of this uses AI, and every AI call costs money. Opening it to the free account would not be generous: the service would spend more on each non-paying account than it gets from a paying one.

The tutor, summaries, translations and class-wall photos moved to the monthly plan on 28/Aug/2026. Before that, free accounts could use the tutor, summaries and translations up to an hourly limit, and post class-wall photos up to a daily limit.

Explanations, topic summaries and translations are stored once written and do not call the AI again. Tutor answers are not stored: each time you ask the tutor something, it calls the AI. An explanation that has already been written is available on the free account too. In a ready-made catalogue material, the same goes for a topic summary that already exists in the material's language and for existing translations.

Sending your own material moved to the monthly plan on 1/Oct/2026. Before that, the free account accepted your first material, up to 40 pages, and wrote questions only for its first topics.

If you have already sent material on the free account, you keep it. Topics that already have questions stay yours, with your progress, for as long as your account exists. Generating questions for the remaining topics requires the monthly plan.

• Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL) and billing is processed by Stripe. Outside Brazil, your bank converts at its own rate, and the amount on your statement may differ from the one shown on screen.
• We do not see or store your card details — they go straight to Stripe.
• You can cancel whenever you want, and access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
• There is no automatic refund for a period already used. If something went wrong on our side, talk to us — we sort it out case by case.

6. Acceptable use, and what can be removed

Repaso is a study tool. Do not send:

• illegal material, or material you do not have the right to use;
• indecent, obscene, or pornographic material;
• material inciting violence, hatred, or discrimination;
• material that is improper for a study tool, including any content exposing another person's personal data;
• anything intended to overload the service or work around its limits.

We may remove from Repaso, without prior notice, any material falling under the above. Removing means truly deleting: the material leaves the database and takes with it the units, the questions, and the study history generated from it. There is no recovery — this is not the trash you have inside the app, from which you restore what you deleted yourself.

In serious cases, or when it happens repeatedly, we may also suspend or close the account.

Two things so there is no misunderstanding:

• We do not read anyone's material as a routine. What exists is an administration panel listing the materials sent (title, size and status), and that is where removal comes from, when it is necessary. The same panel lists the questions with the fewest correct answers, from any material, even if only one person has answered them. Each one opens in full: the options, the answer, the explanation and the excerpt of the material it came from. There is no automated scanning of your study material, and no prior moderation of it.

• ⚠️ THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION, AND IT IS NEW: the photo posted to a class wall. That image — and only that one — is examined by an automated system before it appears to the other people in the class, and it can be rejected. It is the only image in Repaso that one person publishes to others, and publishing with nobody looking would mean any photo could reach 60 people with no barrier at all. An image that system rejects is not stored. Until 28/Aug/2026 this document said there was no automated scanning at all; that was true before the wall, and stopped being true.
• Removing a material does not refund credit. The processing was already done and paid for at the moment the questions were generated. This also applies when you are the one deleting.

7. The social side

Every account is created with an @, and the profile starts as "friends only". Nothing else turns itself on. Repaso works in full without you talking to anyone.

Your profile. You pick a short line about yourself and an avatar, and you can change your @ (3 to 20 characters, no accents, no dots). The avatar is the initial of your name or one of the 27 illustrated characters the app ships. There are 12 free, 8 on the monthly plan, 6 you buy for 400 embers each, and 1 you earn through an invitation (section 8). None of them is a real person, and none is a photograph. You choose the colour of the initial, and only you see that colour. There is no profile photo upload, on purpose: a face photo would bring storage, moderation and one more piece of personal data, three big problems for one ornament.

Who sees your profile is your choice, in Settings → Privacy, between anyone, friends only and nobody. Only people who said they are 18 or older can choose "anyone". If you choose "nobody", your profile does not open for anyone, not even friends. It does not appear in the search by @ or ID either, and nobody can even send you a friend request.

What appears on the profile: the @, your ID (a number unique to you), the name you wrote, the line and the avatar. It also shows your level, your streak, how many questions you have answered, how many memories you have fixed, the medals you hold and the posts you wrote, each with the name of its subject. And it shows who follows you and who you follow. In those two lists, the viewer only sees profiles they could open. If your profile is open to anyone, someone who is not your friend sees on it only the posts you marked for anyone. What does not appear: your email, the list of your subjects, your materials, your accuracy, or the questions you get wrong.

Friendships. Someone asks, you accept or decline. Without acceptance there is no friendship. Without friendship, the person does not enter your feed and cannot message you. And if you chose "friends only", they only see your @, your name and your avatar.

The feed. It shows your posts and your friends' posts. A post is up to 600 characters of text, linked to one of your subjects, and it appears in your friends' feed. If both the post and your profile are set to "anyone", it also appears on your profile for whoever opens it. Each post passes through a word filter and can be reported. Posts have no photos. There is one reaction: the like button.

The league. It ranks you and your friends by XP for today, for this week (starting Monday) and for this month. It also has a team ranking for each three-month season. With no friends there is no friends league, and the screen says so instead of showing a podium of one person. Anyone can ask to join a team, and the team leader accepts or declines. So a team can include people who are not your friends.

The streak partner. Two people who are already friends can agree to hold their streak together. The counter goes up when both answered on the same day and returns to zero when a whole day passes without both. Either one can end it at any time.

The gift. You can send embers to a friend, up to a daily limit. Embers are not bought with money (see section 8).

The conversation. Repaso has a private conversation between friends, and it is born switched off. While it is off, the button does not even appear. When it is switched on: only between people who accepted a friendship, the friendship is checked on every message, and blocking ends the conversation immediately.

Reporting and blocking. Both are on every profile, in the three-dot menu. There is no automated system deciding what harassment is. Reporting a person or a post sends the case to a person at Repaso to read. A post reported by three different people is hidden until someone at Repaso reads the case, and only its author still sees it, marked as under review. The reported person is not told who reported them. When moderation removes a post, a class-wall photo or a material (section 6), whoever posted or sent it sees a notice in the app with the reason and can tap "Ask for a review". The notice says what was removed: the text of the post, the name of the material or the class the photo was removed from. For a post, the notice shows in its place. For a photo or a material, it shows on the Material screen. Blocking undoes the friendship and removes you from each other's feed, league, conversation and follow lists. If you are on the same team, you both stay on the team list. The block can be undone later, in Settings → Privacy, but the friendship does not come back by itself.

Classes. They stay as they were, with one difference: there is now a wall, where someone on the monthly plan who is 18 or older can post a photo to the class. That photo goes through automated checking before it appears (section 6).

8. Embers and the store

Embers are game points, not money. They are earned by studying: finishing blocks, making the daily claim, opening chests and completing missions. They also come as a gift from a friend and through invitations. They cannot be bought. There is no way to turn money into embers, embers into money, or move embers out of your account (the gift to a friend is the only way out, and it has a daily limit).

Invitations. Someone who creates an account through an invitation link gets 30 when they first sign in. For it to count, that first sign-in has to happen in the same browser where the link was opened, within a day of creating the account. The person who invited them gets 100 once the invited person finishes study blocks on 5 different days within the first 14 days of their account. Those 100 embers and the invitation avatar arrive when the inviter opens the "Invite a friend" screen. Up to 5 invitations count per month, and any beyond that carry over to the following months.

With embers you buy, inside the app, things that only exist inside the app: a streak shield, freezing the goal (three days without losing the streak), and 6 avatars at 400 embers each. None of them has an AI cost: they are all built-in app rules.

The store has two tabs, kept apart on purpose: one for embers and one for real money. The money tab shows only the monthly plan from section 5, priced "coming soon" for now, and no game items. The two economies never meet.

If your account is closed, the embers and items end with it. Since they were never bought with money, there is no value to refund.

9. End of the service

This is a new product. If it is ever discontinued, we will give notice in advance and you will be able to export your data. That function already exists today, under Settings.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change something relevant, we will give notice in the app. Continuing to use it after the notice means accepting the new version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Brazilian law, with jurisdiction in the district where the person responsible for Repaso is domiciled.

Privacy Policy

1. What is collected

You provide:

• name, email, and password
• country
• exam date, study days and minutes (optional)
• month and year of birth
• the study material you send
• the notes you write in the app

Use generates:

• which questions you answered, whether you got them right, and how long you took
• the state of your memory per question (when it should come back)
• account creation date and last access
• how confident you said you were in each answer
• the focus-timer minutes
• the names, order and start dates you give to topics, whether you have started each one, and whether you hid any
• each use of the artificial-intelligence features: which feature, when, and how much it cost Repaso
• your device's time zone
• which version of these Terms you accepted, and when

The device reports:

• when something breaks on screen, we record the error message, the screen where it happened, and the description the browser gives of itself, such as its name, version and operating system (the user-agent, up to 200 characters). That record does not store who you are: there is no user identification in it.
• a random code and a name such as "Chrome on Android", for the "My devices" screen.

A code derived from your network:

• When you send an error, feedback, or use an artificial-intelligence feature, we store alongside it a 16-character code computed from your network address (IP).
• The address itself is not stored, and the computation is one-way: the code cannot be turned back into the address. It answers one question — "did these requests come from the same place?" — and never which place.
• What for: to stop someone from creating accounts automatically to use the AI for free many times over, and to stop a looping error from filling the database.
• A shared network is not blocked. A home, a classroom and a prep school all leave from the same address, and anyone already using the app keeps using it normally — the check only looks at accounts created in the last 24 hours.
• This code lives in the same records, for the same time, as those records.

From the social side:

• the @ (every account has one), the profile line, and the avatar (the colour, or which of the 27 characters);
• your choice of who sees your profile (anyone / friends only / nobody);
• who your friends are, friend requests still waiting for an answer, and who you follow;
• who you blocked (that list is seen only by you);
• the posts you wrote, with their subject and audience, and the likes you gave;
• the teams you joined;
• the classes you joined, with your nickname in each;
• who invited you, if you came through an invitation;
• whether you joined a streak partnership, with whom, and for how many days;
• the reports you file, with the reason and what you wrote;
• the conversation messages, once it is switched on — today it is off and no message is stored.

The game generates: your embers and the history of how you earned and spent them, the blocks you opened and closed, the daily and weekly missions, and the chests opened. All of it is study counting, computed by rule — no part of it goes through artificial intelligence.

If you send a complaint with a screenshot: the image is stored in a closed place that only those who moderate Repaso can open, together with the text you wrote. It is not published anywhere and does not go through any automated system. The app warns you, before you pick the file, that your screen may contain your email and the name of your material.

About cookies, specifically: Repaso uses no cookies at all — neither first-party nor third-party. Your session is kept in your own browser's local storage, and leaves it when you sign out or clear the site's data. There is no Google Analytics, no social-network pixel, and no other audience-measurement tool. That is why you do not see a cookie banner here: there would be nothing to consent to, and a decorative banner would be asking permission for something that does not happen. In Settings → Storage you can see how much the app has kept on this device, and clear it.

We do not collect: location, contacts, calendar, or data from other applications. We use no tracking cookies and no advertising.

2. The PDF — how it actually works

When you send a PDF, it is opened and read inside your own browser. The file is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

What leaves your device is the text extracted from it. That text goes to our servers and is stored there, to prepare the next topics of your material and to let you read each topic in the app. Deleting your account deletes that text too. Deleting a material sends it to the trash. The text stays stored until you delete it for good, in "Deleted recently", or delete the account (section 6 of this policy).

3. Where the text goes

This is the part that demands full transparency.

To write the questions, the text of your material is sent to Anthropic, which operates the language model Repaso uses. It is one-off processing, done at the moment of generation.

When you use a monthly-plan feature, Anthropic also receives what it needs to respond:

• tutor: the question, the excerpt from your material, the option you marked, the request you picked, and the form of address you chose (feminine, masculine or neutral);
• explanation: the question and the excerpt;
• summary: the excerpts from the questions of that topic;
• translation: the question;
• class wall: the photo, for the check described in section 6 of the Terms.

We also store, alongside each question, the literal excerpt from your material that proves the answer — that is what lets us show you the exact paragraph when you get it wrong, and what guarantees the question was not invented.

4. Where the data lives

Resend receives your email address and the content of each message Repaso sends, and keeps the sending record for 30 days.

In other words: your data is processed outside Brazil and Argentina. By using Repaso you agree to that transfer.

5. Who has access

• You, to your account.
• Those who moderate Repaso, through an administration panel, to follow usage and solve problems. That panel shows each account's name, email, country, plan, activity, aggregate performance and how much its AI use cost Repaso. It shows the list of materials sent, with title, size and status, but not their full text. It shows the questions with the fewest correct answers, from any material, each with the options, the answer, the explanation and the excerpt of the material it came from. It shows the feedback sent to support, with the sender's email. And it shows the reports: who was reported, the reason, what the reporter wrote and the text of posts that reached review. It does not show who made the report. That is where access is granted, an account problem is fixed, a material is removed in the cases of section 6 of the Terms, and an account is deleted at the request of its owner.
• The people in the class you choose to join. This is new as of 28/Aug/2026 and only happens if you join a class, never by default. On screen, the others see the nickname you chose (it can be anything), your streak and your XP over the last 7 days. In a challenge, if you are in the top three, they also see how many answers you gave, how many days you studied or how many focus minutes you logged in the period. Their device also receives your level, how many memories you have fixed and your points in each challenge.

What does not appear: your real name, your email, your subjects and materials, your accuracy, the questions you get wrong, or the times of day you study.

⚠️ UNTIL 28/Aug/2026 THIS PARAGRAPH SAID: "nobody writes to anybody inside a class; there are no posts, comments, messages or photos". That stopped being true and is corrected below. The sentence was exact while a class was only a list of numbers.

What changed: there is now a wall, where someone on the monthly plan who is 18 or older posts a photo to the class. That photo goes through automated checking before it appears (Terms, section 6). It appears with the nickname of whoever posted it, never their real name, and whoever posted it can delete it. There are still no messages or comments inside a class. The free text the others read is the class name, each challenge's name, and the nicknames.

Leaving a class removes you from the list right away, and takes the nickname with it. Whoever created the class can delete it, and that deletes the whole list.

• The people you accept as friends. This is new as of 28/Aug/2026 and only happens if you accept somebody, never by default. They see your profile (Terms, section 7), your posts in the feed, each with the name of its subject, and your position and points in the league. They do not see your email, the list of your subjects, your materials, your accuracy, or the questions you get wrong.

Who sees your profile is your choice, in Settings → Privacy, and "nobody" is one of the three options. Unfriending or blocking removes the person immediately.

• The people in your team, if you join one. They see your name, your @ and your avatar in the team list. They can open your profile, and what they see there follows your choice of who sees it. The scoreboard shows only the team's total. Whoever leads a team you asked to join also sees your name and avatar in the request.
• Anyone with a Repaso account, if you open your profile to anyone (which is only possible at 18 or older). They see your profile and the posts you marked for anyone.
• Whoever invited you, if you came through an invitation. On the "Invite a friend" screen, that person sees your name, @ and avatar and, during your first 14 days, how many study days are still needed for the invitation to count.
• The authorities, when a class-wall photo may be evidence of a crime: they can receive the stored copy of that photo and what is kept with it (section 7 of this policy).
• Nobody else. We do not sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Your rights

• See and take your data: under Settings → "Export my data" you download a file with your account (email and plan), your preferences, your subjects and their questions (not the archived ones or those in "Deleted recently"; one that left your reviews is marked), your answer history, the challenges you made with "This question is wrong" (what you wrote, when, and what was decided), the state of your memory, your exams (name, date and subject), your notes, your level, your XP and your medals. It does not include the text of the material you sent, your topics, the social side, embers, focus minutes, your age, or the record of your acceptance of these Terms.
• Send a material to the trash: on the Material screen, on each subject. It goes to "Deleted recently", and you can bring it back. The text, the questions and the history stay stored while it is there (section 2).
• Delete a material for good: in "Deleted recently", tap "Delete for good" on the material. This removes its text, the questions, your answers, your memory on it and the focus minutes logged on that subject. The XP from those answers goes with them, and your level, streak and medals may drop. Your notes and your posts stay, without a subject. Also kept, without the material's name: the pages and date it was sent, its AI cost and the summary of the sessions you did. That upload still counts toward your plan limit. You cannot delete for good a catalogue material, a material someone else studies, or one with a part in another subject of yours.
• Delete the whole account: under Settings → "Delete my account". You confirm with your password and it happens immediately, without depending on anyone on our side: out go your materials, the questions generated from them, your answer history, the state of your memory, your profile, your challenges (what you wrote and what was decided), the reports and error notices you sent to support while signed in, with the screenshot, and the photos you posted to a class wall. Unlike a material, the account does not go to the trash. What is still kept after that is listed in section 7 of this policy. The screen itself offers the export before you confirm. Afterwards, there is no way back.
• Correct your data: name, country, and preferences you change under Settings.

7. How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. When you delete the account, we delete your materials, your history, your profile, the reports and error notices you sent to support while signed in, with the screenshot, and the photos you posted to a class wall. If you created a class, it goes too, with the photos of everyone in it. If you lead a team, the team goes too. A report sent without signing in is not linked to the account and does not go with it: to have it removed, write to the contact in section 10. Still kept: the cost record of the AI features you used (without your name or email) and the payment record, if any. To have those deleted too, write to the contact in section 10.

Material removed under section 6 of the Terms is deleted immediately, along with the questions and history that came from it.

A photo that moderation removes from a class wall because it may be evidence of a crime, especially against a child or teenager, is not deleted. A copy is kept in a closed place that only those who moderate Repaso can open. The date it was posted, the internal number of the account that posted it, the nickname, the class name and which open reports the photo had are kept with it. This is so the case can be taken to the authorities. That copy does not go away when the account or the class is deleted, and the app does not delete it on its own.

Repaso's record that the account was deleted keeps the internal account number and the date, with no name and no email. It stays for as long as the hosting service keeps its logs.

Error logs (which do not identify you) may remain for up to 90 days for diagnosis.

8. Security

• Access to data is controlled in the database itself, by rules that prevent one account from reading another account's data.
• The keys granting broad access stay only on the server, never in the browser.
• No system is immune. If there is an incident affecting your data, we will tell you.

9. Minors

Repaso is not intended for children under 13. Between 13 and 18, use must be authorised by a guardian.

About classes: if you are under 18, joining a class makes your nickname and your study numbers visible to the other people in it, and that should be discussed with your guardian first.

⚠️ About the social side, and this is more serious than classes: the public profile, friends, the feed, the league, teams and (once switched on) the conversation put you in contact with other people, not just numbers. If you are under 18, this needs to be discussed with your guardian before you post, accept a friendship or join a team. That is why the profile starts as "friends only", and nothing but the @ turns itself on.

What was done to reduce the risk, and is in the code and not only here:

• the free text other people read is the feed post (up to 600 characters, no photos, with a word filter and reporting), the name of the subject attached to it, your name, your @ and your profile line, a team's name and, in a class, its name, the challenges' names and the nicknames; there are no comments and no messages on profiles, and the only reaction is the like;
• the conversation is born switched off, and even when on it works only between people who accepted a friendship, checked on every message;
• you choose who sees your profile, and "nobody" is one of the options;
• there is no face-photo upload on any profile;
• reporting and blocking are on every profile, in the three-dot menu at the top, and every report, about a person or a post, is read by a person at Repaso;
• the only image one person publishes to others is the class wall photo, and it is checked automatically before it appears.

Age: the app asks for your month and year of birth when you create your account, before it exists. Under 13, the account is not created, and one that already exists is deleted. From 13 to 17, the profile is not public and the class wall is view-only, and the app does not record the guardian's authorization. You can post to the feed from age 13, like the rest of the app.

10. Who is responsible, and contact

Repaso is operated by Letycia Rocha Zuccarello, an individual, in Brazil. She is the one who decides what is collected, what it is for, and how long it is kept — that is, she is the controller of your data.

These two e-mails are the communication channel for data subjects that the LGPD (Brazil's data protection law) requires. Repaso is a small-scale processing agent and therefore does not appoint a data protection officer (ANPD Resolution CD/ANPD No. 2/2022) — but it answers any request about your data through this channel: access, correction, deletion or questions.

Deletion requests are handled within 7 days. You can also delete your account yourself, inside the app, under Settings.
